Atlanta's Post Alexander Will Feature New GE Energy Charging Stations
ATLANTA - After 40 years of innovation and leadership in environmental and green issues, Post Properties announced today the installation of two electric vehicle charging stations at Post Alexander® , a luxury apartment community in the heart of Buckhead. According to Clean Cities Atlanta, the new electric vehicle chargers are Atlanta's first in a multifamily residential community. The installation of the stations was completed October 7.
The company decided to install the charging stations to support the use of alternate fuels and environmentally friendly commute alternatives, according to Steve Sadler, vice president for strategic business services at Post Properties.
"Post residents expect their communities to be environmentally friendly," added Chuck Konas, executive vice president of construction at Post Properties. "Since we expect the popularity of electric vehicles to increase, it makes sense to deploy these stations at key Post communities around the country in the future." New charging stations also are planned for Post communities in Austin and Alexandria, Va.
The new WattStations, manufactured by GE Energy Industrial Solutions, enable fast charging in as little as 4-8 hours. The unit was designed by renowned industrial designer Yves Behar. This design will allow Post to stay current with the latest technology in a rapidly changing industry.
