Ftrans Passes $25M in Financing - cbl

ATLANTA -- Ftrans Corp. raised $650,000 of a targeted $978,383 in equity financing.

The financial services company earlier raised about $25 million from New York-based Greenhill SAVP, Reston, Va.-based New Atlantic Ventures and Atlanta-based Total Technology Ventures, as reported by citybizlist.

Named in the current SEC filing were CEO Daniel H. Drechsel, Vice President of Development John Chandy; and directors W. Garrard Gardiner, III, Total Technology Ventures; Brian Hirsch, Greenhill SAVP; and Michael Seckler, Atlanta-based Euclidean Technologies, LLC.

Kara Williamson, an attorney at Atlanta-based Siavage Law Group LLC, signed the filing

Drechsel has been the Chief Executive Officer of Ftrans since 2008. Previously he served as the President and COO of Global Energy Decisions LLC and President and General Manager of EMEA at S1 Corp. Earlier, he was the Vice President of Marketing at Meta4 Software, SA, a General Manager of ECPartners (a joint venture between Checkfree Corporation and Automatic Data Processing, Inc.'s Electronic Services Division).

Atlanta-based Ftrans provides an accounts receivable and credit management solution for businesses and for financial institutions, a program to enable secured, monitored accounts receivable lines of credit for small businesses.

W. Garrard Gardiner, III
Garrard is a founder of Total Technology Ventures, LLC (TTV), a venture capital firm based in Atlanta, Georgia with $120 million under management. Mr. Garrard earned a B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a M.B.A. from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. His community involvement includes board roles at the Georgia Department for Economic Development, the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and The Emory Eye Center. Mr. Garrard is a member of Leadership Georgia's class of 2005 and a member of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization (YEO). He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Connecture, Inc., Perimeter Internetworking Corp., ControlScan, Inc., FTRANS Corp., Bluepoint Solutions, Interactive Advisory Software, Inc., iKobo, Inc., and Chain Reaction Ecommerce company.

Brian Hirsch
Brian Hirsch (born in 1973) is a New York-based venture capitalist (active since 1997). Hirsch writes a blog called New York VC and is the co-founder of Greenhill SAVP, an early stage ($102 million in capital under management), New York City based venture capital firm. Greenhill SAVP was formed in early 2006 when Silicon Alley Venture Partners combined resources with investment bank Greenhill & Co. (NYSE: GHL). Silicon Alley Venture Partners was formed in 1998 and has been one of the most active and long-standing early stage venture funds based in New York City. Greenhill SAVP and its predecessor fund has been an early investor in a number of New York based companies including LivePerson (NASDAQ: LPSN), UGO Networks (acquired by Hearst for $100 million in July 2007), Medidata Solutions (NASDAQ: MDSO), YellowJacket Software (acquired by IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE:ICE) in February 2008), GameTrust (acquired by RealNetworks in September 2007), Pontiflex, Critical Mention, Partsearch Technologies (owner of Partstore.com), Knovel, TRAFFIQ and Flat World Knowledge.

Hirsch was previously a Principal at Sterling Partners and a Vice President with ABN AMRO Private Equity. At those firms he was involved as an early investor in several notable investments such as OpenWave Systems (NASDAQ: OPWV) and KnowledgeStorm (acquired by TechTarget (NASDAQ:TTGT).Hirsch has a Bachelors degree in Economics and American Studies from Brandeis University. He is married and lives in New York City.

Michael Seckler
Michael Seckler is a Co-founder of Euclidean Technologies, LLC and serves as its Partner. Mr. Seckler served as Vice President of Marketing & Business Development of ADP Employease, Inc. He Co-Founded ADP Employease, Inc. in 1996. Mr. Seckler was responsible for positioning ADP Employease, Inc., Inc. in the marketplace, generating customer demand, and structuring high-impact partnerships. Mr. Seckler often serves as the spokesperson for it, and has presented at industry conferences and seminars including HR Technology Conference & Expo, Internet World, Red Herring's Top 100 Company Conference, and many other HR & investor conferences. Mr. Seckler is Co-founder of Euclidean Technologies. Mr. Seckler has also been published in HR Focus and Electronic Commerce World. Before co-founding ADP Employease, Inc.in 1996, Mr. Seckler worked with Mercer Management Consulting in Boston. Most of his clients were in the telecommunications industry or involved with then-emerging markets involving the Internet and online services industries. He served as Division Vice President at ADP Employease. He serves as Director of FTRANS Corp. He has been Director of Apprenda Inc. since 2008. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in geology and history from Williams College.
