ATLANTA - Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) today announced the distinguished lineup of speakers for the 2012 Georgia Technology Summit (GTS) will include John Hinshaw, executive vice president of Global Technology and Business Processes for HP. Hinshaw, a former member of the Atlanta technology community, will deliver a global IT perspective to this year's Summit. The GTS kicks off at 8:00 a.m. on March 28 at the Cobb Galleria Centre.
"We are pleased to welcome John back to Atlanta and we are excited to add him as a speaker at the GTS. Throughout his career, John has been at the forefront of technology innovation for some of the largest companies in the U.S. We believe his experiences and insights will spark great conversation about how companies can use innovation now to survive and thrive in the future," said Tino Mantella, president and CEO of TAG.
As executive vice president of Global Technology and Business Processes, Hinshaw oversees information technology and shared and administrative services, including indirect and services procurement. He is also in charge of optimizing business processes across the company.
Prior to HP, Hinshaw served as vice president and general manager of Information Solutions for The Boeing Company, where he was responsible for delivering technical solutions to customers that included the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. intelligence community, international governments and Fortune 1,000 companies. He also spent four years as the chief information officer at Boeing following 14 years at Verizon Wireless, where he most recently served as senior vice president and chief information officer.
The 9th annual Georgia Technology Summit is expected to draw a crowd of more than 1,000 C-level executives, entrepreneurs, technology professionals and academia to celebrate and recognize Georgia's technology community. Speakers also include Farhad Manjoo, a technology columnist at Slate and Fast Company and a regular contributor to the New York Times, and Tino Mantella, president and CEO of the Technology Association of Georgia.
This year's theme, Innovation: The Path to a Bright Future, builds upon TAG's public awareness campaign to promote Georgia's technology industry through an emphasis on the fastest-growing tech clusters in the state, including health IT, information security, financial technology, logistics and communication services. According to experts, clusters bring about more resources which lead to greater innovation.
