Courion®, the market-leading provider of intelligent identity governance and administration (IGA) solutions, named David Earhart as its new chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors. Earhart’s extensive background in security and identity and access management (IAM) positions him well to lead Courion’s corporate strategy and execution across all business functions.
“Having a chief executive officer with David’s credentials and deep industry knowledge will help Courion execute on its market-leading strategy and continue to deliver best-in-class solutions to customers,” said Neil Malik, Managing Partner of K1 Investment Management.
Earhart’s appointment comes shortly after the company announced a new center of operational excellence in Roswell, GA in order to increase its geographic footprint in the U.S. and grow its employee base. Courion has already hired more than 70 employees – including six executives – since K1’s investment in February.
Courion is also expanding its product offering to customers through acquisitions. In May, Courion acquired Bay31 AG, a leading provider in identity analytics that leverages proprietary in-memory technology and data-mining algorithms to analyze high volumes of access control data in real-time.
Courion’s position as a market leader with intelligent IAM solutions will be further strengthened under David’s leadership.
“I am very excited to be working with an innovator in the identity governance and administration space,” said Earhart. “Courion’s intelligent technology capabilities uniquely position it to be a market leader, and I look forward to applying my experience in security and systems management to help Courion make the increasingly challenging job of an information security executive easier.”
He added, “A major draw for my joining is the support and backing of K1; the K1 team is committed to accelerating Courion’s growth and has demonstrated the willingness and ability to make the right investments at the right time to ensure our technology exceeds the expectations of our customers and stays ahead of the market.”
Earhart joins Courion with more than 20 years of security and systems management experience. Previously, Earhart was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations for Damballa, a leading provider of advanced threat protection. In this role, he was responsible for record, triple-digit growth. Before Damballa, Earhart was Senior Vice President of Security (IAM) Field Operations at CA Technologies, where his team delivered 300% growth in the security business. Prior to that, Earhart held various leadership and executive positions at BMC Software and venture-backed companies within the sales, support and services functions.
Earhart graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.B.A. in Finance. He currently serves on two external boards of companies in the security space, Cyren (NASDAQ: CYRN) and Coreblox.
