Taste Of Atlanta Serves Up One-Tank Gas Getaway To Explore The City’s Robust Food Scene

Food lovers with a taste for travel are invited to experience a dynamic dining culture unlike any other at the 14th annual Taste of Atlanta. The famed three-day food, wine, beer and cocktail festival, scheduled for Friday, September 25 – Sunday, September 27, attracts tens of thousands people – from the southeast and beyond – to indulge in over 200 bites from renowned restaurants, discover cutting-edge culinary trends and learn cooking secrets from Atlanta’s most talented chefs. Since the city is within short driving distance from Columbus, taste trekkers with an appetite for adventure are just a tank of gas away from checking Atlanta off their foodie bucket list and discovering why it’s known as the Food Capital of the South.

Since its inception in 2002, Taste of Atlanta has become an annual pilgrimage for food enthusiasts to savor authentic flavors that represent every corner of the city. With nearly 100 of Atlanta’s most notable and on-the-rise restaurants signed on, festivalgoers can expect a smorgasbord of cuisine – from time-honored Southern specialties, Japanese fusions, south of the border-inspired fare, coastal European delicacies and much more.

“Atlanta’s food scene has made tremendous strides since Taste of Atlanta started 14 years ago, and I like to think we’ve played a part in the growth,” said Dale DeSena, founder of Taste of Atlanta. “The city has become a must-taste destination that touts top-notch, nationally-acclaimed chefs, sets culinary trends and attracts people from across the country. Taste of Atlanta offers the perfect opportunity for anyone to truly experience all of the diversity, energy and creativity of our local food scene in one weekend.”

Chef samplings are accompanied by live entertainment and interactive demos on four live cooking stages— including The Chef’s Table, The Kitchen Workshop, The Big Green Egg Grilling Experience and Carnival’s Kids Corner stage — for the complete culinary adventure. The VIP Grand Tasting Tent provides ticket holders ages 21 and up access to over 50 craft beers, an extensive selection of wine varieties, cocktails and complimentary tastes from exclusive restaurants not found in the main festival. Festivalgoers can also shake things up at the Barcraft Competition, where top bartenders from the United States Bartenders Guild’s Atlanta chapter will compete for the title of Taste of Atlanta's Best Bartender.

To kick off the mouthwatering weekend, Taste of Atlanta is hosting an exclusive block party on Friday, September 25. The event, themed Bucket List Bash, is set to offer an epicurean experience of a lifetime with the chance to check off bucket list recipes – one bite at a time. This all-inclusive block party will feature heavenly helpings from some of the city’s best restaurants, delicious drinks crafted by unmatched mixologists and lively tunes from Five Bone Rack and Blair Crimmins & the Hookers.

If the food isn’t enough to satisfy the full weekend getaway, Taste of Atlanta has partnered with the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Midtown to offer a special rate of $119 per night (for single or double occupancy) for all Taste of Atlanta attendees.
