Stratix, Southwest Airlines Pair Up on Large-Scale iPad Mini Rollout

8/3/16

Stratix Corporation, an enterprise managed mobility provider based in Norcross, and Southwest Airlines are continuing their mobility partnership by rolling out 14,000 iPad mini-powered electronic flight bags (EFB) into the aircraft cabin.

The EFBs will replace the paper manuals that Southwest flight attendants use to reference policies and procedures while working a trip. The iPad minis also will enable Southwest to simplify the way policies and procedures are updated and ensure that flight attendants receive updates at the same time. More planned uses are in the works for the iPad minis, including replacing aging POS devices for in-flight beverage orders.

“There are a multitude of efficiencies and conveniences gained by acquiring an Inflight EFB, and we are thrilled to offer this technology to our flight attendants,” said Sonya Lacore, Southwest Airlines Vice President Cabin Services. “At Southwest, we strive for continuous improvement, and this multi-year mobility initiative is going to bring about new and exciting changes for our flight attendants and our customer experience.”

“Our mutual focus on customer experience and improved efficiency has created a long-standing collaboration with Southwest,” said Gina Gallo, president and CEO, Stratix Corporation. “Helping our clients realize the full value of their mobile investments and achieve their corporate mission is behind our successful partnerships with clients such as Southwest Airlines.”
