Taylor English Duma LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Joel C. Williams as counsel in the firm’s Corporate and Business Practice. Williams, who was previously with Bryan Cave LLP, serves clients in general corporate, international trade, and regulatory and legislative matters.

Williams counsels financial institutions, environmental and waste businesses, the food industry, the telecommunications industry, local governmental entities, and public and private utilities in all matters of corporate and business law. He also has experience with legal matters in antitrust, environment, international trade, insurance, product recall and crisis management.
Williams served as in-house counsel for a major food company for more than 26 years. His responsibilities included all legal compliance for the business, and he assisted the business development team in acquisitions and divestitures.
In addition to his legal work, Williams served as a member of the trade advisory committee to the U.S. Special Trade Ambassador and the Secretary of Agriculture. His experiences in the negotiations of the North American Free Trade Agreement and the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, along with his experience in international trade and customs law representation for his former company, provide him with an inside understanding of trade regulation and practical business application.
Outside of work, Williams has served for more than six years on the board of directors for South College, and he is actively involved with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia United Methodist Foundation.
Williams earned his undergraduate degree from Shorter University and his law degree from Mercer University.
