Sterling Risk Advisors has appointed John Beverly “Bev” West as Strategic Client Advisor. With more than thirty years of commercial risk management experience, West will work with Sterling clients plus train and mentor the firm’s managing directors and producers.

West’s experience includes:

Overseeing commercial property and casualty insurance brokerage and client service operations, including international placements.

Facilitating and maintaining relationships with property and casualty insurance company underwriters, managers and senior executives.

Designing and implementing global property and casualty insurance programs for large public and private multi-national firms, including captive utilization.

Managing property and casualty insurance for staffing, construction, manufacturing, transportation, hospitality, real estate and entertainment firms.

Evaluating the financial and physical risks posed by mergers and acquisitions.

Working at the “C-suite” level with both clients and insurers.
Prior to joining Sterling Risk Advisors, West worked for McGriff Seibels & Williams of Georgia as their senior vice president, commercial lines manager. Before that, he worked for Thomas Rutherfoord as vice president, division manager, for Hilb, Rogal & Hobbs as executive vice president, risk management practice, and for Discover Re Management as regional vice president. He has also worked for Crump Alternative Risk Program Division (Sedgwick Group PLC), and Alexander & Alexander, Inc.
West graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a major in marketing management. He lives in Vinings, Georgia.
