Now in its 31st consecutive year, Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s Tax and Business Planning Seminar will feature a keynote presentation from David D. Aughtry, an Atlanta-based shareholder. Aughtry’s presentation will cover judicial, statutory and regulatory developments, and will be followed by six workshops on various business and tax-related topics. Attendees can expect to hear about estate and gift valuation disputes, conservation easements and captive insurance companies, as well as receive guidance on the massive confusion with Congress’ “repeal” of the TEFRA Partnership Procedures.

Attendees will also gain valuable knowledge from members of Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s nationally recognized tax practice through the following workshop topics:

  • What your anchor clients need to do now in light of the proposed Section 2704(b) regulations and what discounts remain unaffected.
  • What a Trump presidency means to your anchor clients.
  • Dramatic changes and lessons learned in protecting clients from audit through appeals to litigation.
  • What changes need to be made to every LLC and partnership agreement due to the repeal of TEFRA partnership procedures.
  • Captivating changes that require immediate action.
  • International tax compliance and disputes.

Aughtry focuses his practice on civil and criminal tax litigation. He is recognized as a national authority in tax litigation by Chambers USA and Legal 500 Litigation Guide. He serves as chairman of the board of trustees of the Southern Federal Tax Institute.

Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s tax practice is a core strength of the firm, with over one-third of its lawyers either practicing primarily or having a strong background in tax law. Many of the attorneys are board certified in tax law, and have worked with the IRS or the Department of Justice Tax Division. The firm’s clients include a wide range of public companies, privately held businesses, partnerships and joint ventures, individuals, estates and tax-exempt organizations.
