CTCA's Dr. Kevin Woods Earns 40 under 40 Recognition

Dr. Kevin E. Woods, chief of interventional endoscopy, gastroenterology & nutrition at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Southeastern Regional Medical Center (Southeastern), was recently named to the Atlanta Business Chronicle's 40 under 40 list for 2016. The annual awards honor young, Atlanta-area professionals who have made significant contributions to the communities and industries in which they serve.

At 39 years of age, Dr. Woods serves as a board member and volunteer with multiple Atlanta organizations. He works with youth at the John and JeJuan Stewart Jr. Foundation and E.A.G.L.E. 7 to facilitate programming and learning opportunities for children grades six through 12.

Dr. Woods also volunteers as an alumni mentor for undergraduates at Morehouse College where he serves as an invited lecturer. He works with professional gastroenterology associations to encourage women and minority medical students at Emory University and Morehouse School of Medicine to pursue careers in gastroenterology.

Beyond community involvement, Dr. Woods is responsible for building and managing the gastroenterology division, clinical service lines and scientific research programs relating to the prevention and management of digestive diseases and related cancers at CTCA. After studying and training extensively at Johns Hopkins, Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital, he continues to lecture across the world on the applications of new clinical technologies to raise awareness about the impact of esophageal, pancreatic and colorectal cancer.
