Taylor English Duma LLP is pleased to announce that Glianny Fagundo has been appointed by Governor Nathan Deal to the State Personnel Board for a five-year term. The Board, composed of five members, is responsible for determining the appropriate statewide human resource management goals, ensuring that policies and rules are in place to effectuate such goals and reviewing adverse personnel actions as the Board deems appropriate. Fagundo’s term will start in January 2017.
At Taylor English, Fagundo is a partner in the Employment and Labor Relations practice. She partners with clients to design and implement workplace policies and practices that are compliant with the law, further their business goals and protect their company’s culture. Fagundo also counsels national employers on a multitude of workplace issues, including wage and hour, worker classification, joint employer/single enterprise, religious and disability accommodations, discipline, terminations, RIF’s, executive employment agreements and background checks.
In addition to her participation on the State Personnel Board, Fagundo serves on the board of directors for the Latin American Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the advocacy committee of the Latin American Association. She was recently recognized by the Atlanta Business Chronicle among Atlanta’s “Women Who Mean Business.”
Fagundo earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüezand her law degree from the University of Georgia.
The State Personnel Board is appointed by the Governor to provide policy direction for State personnel administration. The Rules of the State Personnel Board are those policies adopted by the Board and approved by the Governor to serve as a framework for legal compliance and effective talent management across the state. The Rules serve to promote consistency in the implementation of core human resources practices while allowing appropriate flexibility for agencies to tailor their human resources programs for individual efficiency and effectiveness.
