Jones Day Names Three New Atlanta Partners

The global law firm Jones Day has announced that the following three Atlanta lawyers have been named to the Firm's partnership, effective January 1, 2017.

Craig S. Friedman, currently an associate in the Labor & Employment Practice, represents employers in a wide variety of labor and employment matters and defends employers in single and multiplaintiff actions. He has extensive experience defending employers against nationwide and statewide class and collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act and other wage-hour laws. He has represented employers in a broad range of actions, including lawsuits brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and various state laws. His cases have included claims of discrimination, retaliation, hostile work environment, breach of contract, and failure to accommodate. In addition, Mr. Friedman counsels employers on a range of labor and employment compliance issues.

Daniel J. Merrett, currently an associate in the Business Restructuring & Reorganization Practice, focuses on corporate and municipal restructurings, bankruptcy, and other insolvency-related matters. He represents companies across a variety of industries, municipalities, secured lenders, unsecured creditors, and other significant constituencies in distressed situations, including in-court and out-of-court restructurings.

Heith D. Rodman, currently of counsel in the Financial Institutions Litigation & Regulation Practice, practices commercial and corporate law, with a primary focus on transactions, product development, and regulatory issues facing the financial services industry; financial technology; and payment systems. He regularly advises clients on a wide range of transactional, regulatory, and strategic matters, including proprietary and co-branded card programs, payment processing agreements, and development of emerging payment products, as well as compliance with financial industry, consumer financial protection, and data security laws and regulations. His clients range from traditional financial institutions to sophisticated global merchants to leading-edge financial technology companies.
