Entrepreneur, New York Times best-selling author and part-owner of the Atlanta Hawks Jesse Itzler will provide the keynote address during the Buckhead Business Association’s Annual Luncheon in January.

During the event, the BBA will bestow awards to difference makers in the Buckhead community, including Business of the Year, Entrepreneurs of the Year and Buckhead Business Beautification awards. The civic organization will also present the Sam Massell Bullish on Buckhead award, which the group last year renamed in honor of former Atlanta Mayor Sam Massell.

Itzler co-founded Marquis Jet which he sold to Berkshire Hathaway/NetJets in 2009 and is married to Sara Blakely, the founder of Buckhead-based Spanx. He will address the organization at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, at the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Conference Center.

“My occupation or what I do for a living is building a life résumé,” the Atlanta Jewish Times quoted Itzler as saying in August. “I don’t dwell on victories. I look for the next challenge. The harder, the more alive I feel. I am not one to quit. I push past discomfort. Yes, my occupation is to squeeze every ounce out of life.”
