Georgia’s first female-led venture capital firm Valor Ventures is proud to announce its continued growth with the addition of new partner Robin Bienfait. Robin joins the team as partner in charge of innovation and will work with Valor on quality exit opportunities for its growing portfolio of technology startups.

Presently the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Global Mobile Solutions, Robin previously excelled in officer-level positions for Samsung Electronics, BlackBerry and AT&T. Her roles have included Chief Enterprise Innovation Officer at Samsung Electronics, Chief Information Officer / Chief Technology Officer / Chief Information Security Officer for BlackBerry, and Chief Compliance Officer at AT&T.

“I am excited to join Valor Ventures, one of the true innovators in early stage venture capital,” Bienfait said. “Based in Atlanta, I have seen first-hand the tremendous impact Valor has had on the business landscape and look forward to continuing the mission of positioning our portfolio of startups for breakthrough success.” Robin holds 15 patents and has served on the advisory boards of Cisco and Hewlett Packard. She is an active innovator and engineer with a master’s degree in technology management from Georgia Tech.

“Investing in innovation takes talent, discipline, and a broad network,” says Lisa Calhoun, Valor Ventures managing partner. “We are delighted to add a seasoned global expert like Robin to the partnership.”

Robin joins other notable Valor team members including co-founding partner Sarah O’Brien, an experienced financial leader who for more than 10 years supported strategic acquisitions at General Electric. Sarah later served as Chief Financial Officer of a $500 million division of $2.5 billion Carestream Health and was an active angel and private equity investor before co-founding Valor.

Valor’s growing startup portfolio includes Aerobo, a drone services company from Brooklyn with media network clients like Fox and film clients such as Fast & Furious, and Kandidly, an on-demand photography platform from Austin, Texas. Valor anticipates new investments in the year ahead.
