Susan Ahern Rejoins Private Bank of Buckhead

1/12/17

Private Bank of Buckhead, which also includes Private Bank of Decatur and PrivatePlus Mortgage, has named Susan Ahern as a Vice President and as Loan Operations Manager. An accomplished banking pro with over 20 years of operations experience, Ahern recently returned to Private Bank of Buckhead.

“We are delighted to have Susan back on our team,” says Terry Freeman, Chief Operating Officer and CFO of the bank. “She was instrumental in our early success when the doors opened in 2006. Not only is her role vital to daily management, but she remains steadfast in her commitment to providing our clients with an extraordinary level of personalized service.”

A true Atlanta native, Ahern was born at Emory, where both parents also attended college. She graduated from Kennesaw State University with a bachelor’s degree in K-4 Education and previously worked for other area banks before joining Private Bank of Buckhead.

“I enjoy the opportunity to contribute to the strong risk-management foundation of the bank,” Ahern says, “and to work with such a great team of seasoned bankers."

Away from work, she enjoys reading, cooking and spending time at the beach. A grateful transplant recipient, Ahern spends time raising awareness for organ donation and mentoring through the Georgia Transplant Foundation. She and her husband have a son who is currently studying Engineering at Georgia Tech. They live in Chamblee with their three dogs, Murphy, Reggie and Addy.

Private Bank of Buckhead – now in its 11th year – brings a private banking approach to all clients across all functions of the bank. On January 1, 2017, the bank, including its Private Bank of Decatur and PrivatePlus Mortgage divisions, completed a merger with National Bank of Commerce. PrivatePlus, which is represented in Buckhead and Decatur, does business nationally – 50 states and the District of Columbia.
