1/16/17

New York’s popular ‘chicken-and-rice cart is set to open its first brick-and-mortar location in the northeast Atlanta suburb of Chamblee, later this month. The grand opening of The Halal Guys is set for Sat., Jan. 28. Doors open at 11 a.m.

No first-timer trip to New York is complete without waiting in a massive line to get to the front of the cart line or front door for a taste of The Halal Guys, and that’s the same hype that the new location at 4929 Buford Hwy is set to service in the coming weeks. Known for their famous beef gyro sandwiches, chicken-and-rice platters and "secret" white sauce, The Halal Guys’ menu offers a mix of various American Halal food.

“After a longer than expected construction process, I’m excited to finally open our red and yellow doors to the public," said Moynul Chowdhury, operating franchisee of the Chamblee location. “It’s been amazing to see and hear the excitement from so many people—both in person and on our social media channels—as soon as our signs and signature colors went up on the corner of Clairmonte Rd. and Buford Highway. We couldn’t have picked a more eclectic part of town to open our first location—-it fits us perfectly.”

To reward those with the most anticipation of chowing down on a Halal Guys platter or sandwich, the first 50 fans will receive a free entree platter and fountain drink of their choice; the next 200 customers will receive a Halal Guys t-shirt. On opening day, diners can also enjoy live entertainment from local artists and a raffle featuring various prizes from The Halal Guys and other partners supporting the restaurant’s opening.

The Halal Guys’ Chamblee location is just steps away from the popular Canton House. The location will also offer free WiFi and ample parking.

The Halal Guys franchises now has a global footprint with locations in Canada, Philippines and Indonesia. With over 200 restaurants in development the brand is leaving their mark on the world of halal food.

ABOUT THE HALAL GUYS:

The Halal Guys grew from its humble beginnings as a food cart on the streets of New York City to a global icon known as the largest American Halal street food concept in the world. This Manhattan-based landmark was created by three like-minded men from Egypt who came to America in search of a better life. When the founders noticed many cab drivers in New York were looking for a place to buy meals in Manhattan, they created their first food cart and quickly grew into a leading tourist and native New Yorker destination for American Halal fare. In 2013, The Halal Guys were ranked the most popular food truck reviewed on FourSquare and the third most Yelped restaurant in the United States in 2014 with more than 7,600 reviews and a 4.5 average star rating.

The Halal Guys has been recognized by TIME Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine, The New York Times and The Huffington Post. For more information, visit: http://thehalalguys.com
