Maximizing Efficiency: Strategies for Improving Energy Savings for Data Center, Broadcast and SAT Uplink Facility Design

2/6/17

The TAG Infrastructure society is pleased to announce a February 13 joint presentation together with SMPTE, SSPI and SBE on Maximizing Efficiency: Strategies for Improving Energy Savings for Data Center, Broadcast and SAT Uplink Facility Design. The TAG Infrastructure Society, the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), the Society of Satellite Professionals International (SSPI), and the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) will explore solutions and efficiencies in data center design and cooling now that networks have moved beyond the traditional IT space.

The event will be held at Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta on Monday, February 13, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. To register please visit click here.

In the February 13 presentation, attendees will learn about the challenges facing them with deployment of distributed systems and gain a better understanding of available solutions to meet the most demanding installation criteria.

“Today, IT components are deployed in any available space from small rooms and closets to factory floors. As the Internet of Things (IoT) continues to grow exponentially, these deployments will become more commonplace, resulting in new and unique demands for climate control and installation maintenance,” said TAG Infrastructure Board Member Darryl Berman, account manager for IT Data Center Solutions. “We need a continuous improvement process for climate control in existing data center spaces to support growing installation densities while simultaneously maximizing efficiencies.

Herb Villa, Senior Systems Consultant, IT Data Center Solutions at Rittal Corporation, keynotes this exciting event. Herb offers 20 years of experience in the IT market with a specialization in mechanical engineering. He has been involved in all aspects of data center and system design, installation and operations. Mr. Villa, who previously served as head of corporate sales and trainer on behalf of DC Professional Development – North America, a global training organization for the data center market, offers expertise in high-density cooling solutions, containerized solutions, TS-IT enclosures and more.

The event is sponsored by the Rittal Corporation and includes dinner. Advance registration is required. There is no cost to TAG members or members of SMPTE, SSPI or SBE. There is a $20 fee for non-members to attend. For more information and to register, please click here.
