Carter Center CEO Ambassador Mary Ann Peters, Metro Atlanta Chamber president and CEO Hala Moddelmog, and MMJ Labs founder and CEO Dr. Amy Baxter are panelists at the 2017 International Women’s Day (IWD) breakfast presented by the World Affairs Council of Atlanta on Wednesday, March 8.
Rickey Bevington of Georgia Public Broadcasting will moderate the Commerce Club event, which will begin at 8 a.m.
The panelists will discuss challenges women continue to face as they advance professionally and how society can support women to unleash their economic potential, domestically and worldwide.
International Women's Day was first observed as a popular event after 1977 when the United Nations General Assembly invited member states to proclaim March 8 as the U.N. Day for women's rights and world peace.
#BeBoldforChange, the theme for International Women’s Day 2017, is a call to “forge a better working and more gender inclusive world,” according to the IWD website.
The event is $20 for World Affairs Council members and $30 for non-members. Register to attend athttp://bit.ly/IWDATL.
