Atlantic Station Appoints Nick Garzia Director of Leasing

3/6/17

Atlantic Station announced today the addition of Nick Garzia as Director of Leasing for the Hines Retail Resource Group. In this role, Garzia will work closely with SRS Real Estate Partners (SRS), Atlantic Station’s leasing team, on Hines’ current tenanting strategy and future endeavors in the Southeastern US.

The hiring of Garzia, who has spent the past 12 years focusing specifically on open-air, mixed-use lifestyle developments, reinforces Atlantic Station’s continued efforts to create a modern, fresh and healthy living experience within the city’s original repurposed, revitalized development. Recently, Atlantic Station announced two new first-to-market restaurant concepts that fit this strategy.

“Convenience and healthy lifestyles are essentially the driving force behind today’s mixed-use developments,” said Barbara Garrett, Atlantic Station’s general manager. “Ensuring we have dynamic, on trend apparel along with healthy dining options is imperative, and I believe Nick will help us achieve that.”

Garzia brings more than 20 years of lifestyle center leasing experience to Atlantic Station, including expertise in retail market analysis, tenant prospecting, shopping center merchandising and redevelopment. Prior to joining the Hines team, Garzia served as director of leasing for General Growth Properties (GGP), where he primarily focused on assets in Florida. Throughout his career, Garzia has been responsible for leasing over 40 developments, including the Shops of Merrick Park in Coral Gables, Fla., Mizner Park in Boca Raton, Fla. and the Coastland Center in Naples, Fla.

“Atlantic Station already has so many positive qualities, including the best H&M in the market, the best cinema in the market and plenty of restaurant options,” said Garzia. “These combined factors create an environment and experience that is desirable for retailers, and Atlantic Station will play a very important role in bringing more retailers and restaurants inside the perimeter for many years to come.”

Garzia earned his Master of Urban Planning and Bachelor of Arts in Architectural and Environmental Design from State University of New York. Additionally, he’s participated in a joint Harvard University-MIT continuing education program for senior managers and executives.
