Tech Giant Invests in Creating Opportunities for Atlanta’s Developer Ecosystem

Atlanta Tech Village (The Village), the fourth largest tech hub in the U.S. for emerging startups, today announces its collaboration with cloud-computing superpower, Microsoft. The collaboration between The Village and Microsoft, through its Microsoft for Startups (www.microsoftforstartups.com) program, aims to bring Atlanta to the top of the list as a startup hub, combining talent, affordability and diversity.

“Most of the major players are here, including Microsoft, and it’s great to see global tech leaders taking an interest in and recognizing the caliber of talent that Atlanta Tech Village houses,” notes Atlanta Tech Village Founder, David Cummings. “The support and presence of partners like the Microsoft for Startups program help us to elevate our amazing entrepreneurs even further, aiding and enabling them to focus on what’s most important – which is building successful and sustaining businesses.”

With the goal of incubating groundbreaking startups in mind, Microsoft for Startups aims to invest in Atlanta’s developer network as well as provide resources and opportunities for Villagers. As part of the partnership, eligible Villagers will be offered access to exclusive offers and global programs that help startups succeed including free Microsoft Azure cloud services, technical engagement, business development and go-to-market resources and opportunities. In addition, Microsoft for Startups will host a variety of in-house events for Villagers and the general public, including Women Who Code, TAG, Microsoft Build, Mission to Mars and others.

Microsoft is always on the lookout for great stories of collaboration around the creation of new innovative products and services to share with the world. As such, the company regularly invests in relationships with startups and leadership organizations such as Atlanta Tech Village, fostering similar partnerships in Boston, Chicago and Washington, D.C.
