Celebrity Charity Basketball Game to be Hosted at Lovett School

5/17/17

On Saturday, May 20, NBA legends Dikembe Mutombo and Dale Ellis will lead two teams of former pro basketball stars during a charity basketball game at The Lovett School.

The 3rdAnnual Celebrity Basketball Game, made possible through a partnership with Aaron’s, Inc., Breakthrough Atlanta and the National Basketball Retired Players Association, will raise money to help sustain Breakthrough Atlanta’s mission of providing an academically intense six-year path to college for middle school students, and hands-on teaching internships for high school and college students.

To kick off the day, special guests will have a chance to mix and mingle with the NBA legends during the VIP Reception, which will cost guests $100 per ticket.

Other NBA legends invited to participate include Drew Berry, Jamario Moon, Rod Sellers, Joe Smith, Peerless Price, Tom Gugliotta, Deandre (Mosquito) Bray, Theo Ratliff, Marcus Hunt, Mark Davis, Harold Keeling and Keith Bogans.

Below are event details. If you’re interested in covering the game, please let me know. I can also arrange for you to attend the VIP reception, where you’ll have a chance to speak one-on-one with Ellis, Mutombo and the other legends to learn why this cause is so important to them, Aaron’s and the Atlanta community.
