Eversheds Sutherland Partner Stacey McGavin Mohr Recognized with Daily Report’s “On the Rise” Award

5/23/17

Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP is pleased to announce that Partner Stacey McGavin Mohr has been recognized with the “On the Rise” award by the Daily Report, Fulton County’s official legal publication and Georgia’s leading source for legal news and information. The award will be presented to Ms. Mohr during the organization’s Professional Excellence awards ceremony on June 29, 2017.

The annual award recognizes lawyers who are making a difference in the community and will continue to do so in the future.

“We are very proud of Stacey,” said Mark D. Wasserman, Eversheds Sutherland (US) Managing Partner and Co-CEO of Eversheds Sutherland Ltd. “This honor is a true reflection of her passion and dedication for client and community service. Stacey is very deserving of this wonderful honor, and we are happy to see that her talents are recognized beyond our walls.”

Ms. Mohr is extremely active in the Atlanta community, including volunteering with the Juvenile Code Assessment Project to interview stakeholders and evaluate the impact of the revised state juvenile code. Ms. Mohr has worked with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF) on several projects, most recently the Standing with Our Neighbors initiative, which partners AVLF and its volunteers with schools and other community allies to improve living conditions and housing stability in low-income neighborhoods, all to improve resident health, reduce school enrollment turnover, and enhance student attendance and performance. She also has provided pro bono representation to individuals through AVLF’s Saturday Lawyer Program and its Domestic Violence Project, as well as the State Bar’s Fee Arbitration program.

Ms. Mohr served for several years as a mentor with Everybody Wins!, a national non-profit organization that pairs elementary school students at risk for academic failure with mentors who spend one-on-one time reading with them for one hour each week for an entire school year.

At Eversheds Sutherland (US), Ms. Mohr litigates complex business disputes—with extensive experience in consumer and policyholder class actions—as well as civil rights and constitutional law cases and education-funding litigation. She represents clients engaged in commercial arbitrations and in litigation in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels.

Ms. Mohr also counsels companies on a variety of matters, including employment issues and open-government compliance, and advises private and public schools on a range of education issues.
