“From claims for refund with omitted arguments or failure to timely contest denials, through limitations extensions that lead to larger deficiencies, to missed elections, inadequate disclosures and other dangerous practice problems, this tax forum will cover the best ways to deal with the things that keep you up at night,” explains David Aughtry. “While unforeseen issues will continue to consistently arise, we will provide you with practical tools to meet them head on.”

Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s tax practice is a core strength of the firm, with more than one-third of its lawyers either practicing primarily or having a strong background in tax law. Many of the attorneys are board certified in tax law and have worked with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or the Department of Justice Tax Division. The firm’s clients include a wide range of public companies, privately held businesses, partnerships and joint ventures, individuals, estates and tax-exempt organizations.

As a shareholder in Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s Tax and Tax Controversy and Litigation practices, Aughtry focuses his practice on civil and criminal tax litigation. He is a nationally recognized speaker, and has presented for the American Tax Institute, AICPA Valuation Conferences, Mississippi Tax Institute, Georgia Tax Conference, Tax Executives Institute and various other tax programs. Aughtry was selected as a fellow of the International Society of Barristers, and is recognized as a national authority in tax litigation by Chambers USA and the U.S. Legal 500 Guide.
