Lennar Promotes Chris Recker and Jim Bowersox to Top Positions in Atlanta

Fred B. Rothman, Lennar Regional President, announced a new organizational structure for Lennar Atlanta and has promoted two long-term leaders to head its new Homebuilding and Land Divisions. Lennar Atlanta is a division of Lennar (NYSE:LEN), the second largest homebuilding company in the USA.

Chris Recker has been named Atlanta Homebuilding Division President, with full responsibility for the day-to-day homebuilding operations of Lennar Atlanta, while Jim Bowersox is appointed to Atlanta Land Division President. “This new structureformalizes the way Lennar Atlanta has been effectively operating for a long time already, and both operating groups will continue to work together closely,” says Rothman.

Chris Recker joined Lennar Atlanta in 2010 as Director of Construction, and quickly rose to Vice President of Operations. He manages all of the Division’s activities related to construction, architecture, purchasing and customer care. In addition, he is in charge of forward planning responsibilities and helps keep the Division’s sales, starts and closings paced in order to meet quarterly goals.

After obtaining his BS in Business Management from Ohio Wesleyan University, Recker joined Centex Homes in Atlanta in 1993. As a four-year Varsity Football letterman and active board member of Alpha Tau Omega, he counts teamwork and relationship building as the cornerstones of his success in the homebuilding industry. Some of his other professional skills include systems management, architectural design, cost management and even flow construction. To Recker, “Success is where preparation meets opportunity. There is opportunity all around us, the preparation is up to you.”

Until his promotion to Atlanta Land Division President, Jim Bowersox served as Vice President, Land Acquisitions & Development for Lennar Atlanta. He secures land positions and directs contract negotiations, entitlements, zonings and overall development of lots and land.

A Tennessee native, Bowersox completed his degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville before joining the US Air Force. He retired from the US Air Force Reserve in 2000 after completing 32 years of active and reserve service.

Throughout his career in land acquisitions and development, Bowersox has developed more than 15,000 residential housing lots to date, mainly throughout the Southeast.

Before joining Lennar Atlanta in 2012, he was owner and president of Bowersox Development, Inc. for ten years and has held a variety of senior level positions with renowned building companies. Drawing on his technical background, extensive expertise and years of experience, Bowersox especially enjoys taking on large, complex projects, especially raw land deals, and “…making it work.” As he says, “Being part of the development of a large, new community from scratch is truly rewarding.”

Since opening its Georgia headquarters in July 2010, Lennar Atlanta has built more than 2,300 new homes in over 50 communities throughout Georgia.
