Grant Thornton Appoints Cort Berner and John Miksich

Grant Thornton LLP admitted Cort Berner as Corporate Tax partner and John Miksich as Technology Solutions principal in the firm’s Atlanta office. Across the firm, Grant Thornton admitted 39 new partners and principals, and promoted 28 professionals to managing director.

Cort Berner joined Grant Thornton in 2010. He has more than 13 years of public accounting experience providing comprehensive income tax planning, financial income accounting, and tax return outsourcing services to large public and privately-held businesses. Prior to being admitted as a partner, Berner served as a senior manager.

Berner is a certified public accountant (CPA) in Georgia and a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and Georgia Society of CPAs. He received a master’s degree in accountancy with an emphasis in taxation from the University of Tennessee and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida State University.

John Miksich joined Grant Thornton in 2013. He has more than 17 years of experience developing enterprise resource planning, enterprise performance management and business intelligence solutions. Working directly with finance, IT and operations leadership, Miksich helps organizations define initiatives to address specific business challenges and growth opportunities enabled by technology. Prior to being admitted as a principal, Miksich served as a senior manager.

Miksich is a member of the AICPA.  He received his bachelor’s degree in Finance and Management Information Systems from Creighton University.
