Safavieh to Invest $60 Million in Savannah, Georgia, Facility

Cushman & Wakefield is developing a 1.1 million-square-foot fulfillment center for Safavieh, a New York-based international home furnishings brand, at the Savannah River International Trade Park in Savannah, Georgia. The company will invest $60 million to build the new facility, which is expected to create 200 jobs upon completion in late 2018. Bob Robers, Senior Director of Cushman & Wakefield's eCommerce Fulfillment Practice Group, represented Safavieh in acquiring the land and developing the site, and Bradley Migdal and Carol Henderson of Cushman & Wakefield secured economic incentives for the project.

“Savannah is strategically located to facilitate throughput of Safavieh’s imported goods and fulfillment needs,” Robers said. “Safavieh already operates more than 500,000 square feet of warehousing in Savannah, and this investment will more than triple their presence.”

Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) director of Logistics, Energy, Agribusiness and Food Brittany Holtzclaw represented the Global Commerce division in collaboration with the Savannah Economic Development Authority and Georgia Power.
