Teams, families and spectators get together for fun and games at The Concourse
On Sunday afternoon, October 1 from 1 – 5:30PM, teams from all over Atlanta will compete during Second Helpings Atlanta’s Food & Field Fest at The Concourse Office Park (corner of Peachtree Dunwoody and Hammond Drive, Dunwoody).Free parking is widely available.
The event, organized by Second Helpings Atlanta together with Atlanta Sport and Social Club, is inspired by an old-fashioned Field Day, with games and competitions including relay races, tug-o-war, giant table-top games and more. There will be a kids’ zone with a bounce-house and face painting, an artisan market, food trucks and adult beverages, and entertainment will include a live DJ and a concert to close the festivities.
“Looking for a fun fall afternoon with a group of friends, or maybe with your kids, neighbors or colleagues? Put your own team together now and join us for Food & Field Fest,” invites Joe Labriola, Executive Director of Second Helpings Atlanta. “It’s all about team work – whether you’re trying to win a sack race or if you’re helping to combat hunger, we believe in the power of working together.”
Families, singles, local companies, schools and other area groups are invited to form teams and pre-register @ $100 per group team or $50 per family team. Participants can also join as a single or couple and take their chances with a team formed on-site. In addition to tournament winners, prizes will be awarded for best, funniest or wackiest team costumes and highest amount of additional sponsor dollars raised. Second Helpings Atlanta, Inc. (SHA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit food rescue organization whose mission is to reduce hunger and food waste in the metropolitan Atlanta area by rescuing surplus food and delivering it to those in need.
