New South Construction Company, an Atlanta-based general contracting firm, announces scheduler Emily Shirley has been selected to Constructech’s 2017 Women in Construction list.

Constructech’s annual honor highlights women, whose roles span corporate levels, who go above and beyond and instill changes in their respective companies and the construction industry. The list is comprised of the most successful women working in construction who represent some of the largest, most innovative construction companies in the nation.

Emily was recognized for advancing technological applications, representing innovation in the field and for engaging in conferences and industry events, including presenting at the Construction Management Association of America’s Capital Projects Symposium earlier this year. At New South, Emily leads the BIM and 4D scheduling team. Additionally, she leads project management teams through the monitor and control phase of construction projects.

“I am honored to be recognized by Constructech along with my peers,” said Shirley. “One of my career goals is to encourage women in the field to embrace technology and continue to drive the construction industry forward.”

The 2017 Women in Construction were honored at a dinner on August 24 in San Mateo, California. The event served as the finale to Constructech’s 2017 Technology Day and Baseline to Build On events.
