This innovative financial resource, launched last year, offers a wide array of free on-site workshops and resources, in addition to online courses.

The Georgia Credit Union Affiliates (GCUA) today presented the Delta Community Financial Education Center with its Desjardins Adult Financial Education Award, which recognizes leadership within the credit union movement on behalf of financial literacy for all ages.

"Our Financial Education Center is unique among credit unions in metro Atlanta because it provides multiple, free on-site financial education programs to members of the public," said Delta Community CEO Hank Halter. "We are delighted that it has been recognized by our peers in the credit union industry."

In its first year, Delta Community's Financial Education Center offered 22 separate courses, including eight high school youth financial programs, through 70 workshops in topics as diverse as:

• Car and home buying
• Retirement readiness
• Investment planning
• Understanding and managing credit
• Paying for college
• Career planning

The Delta Community Financial Education Center also provides a single online channel with course details, an events calendar and a convenient registration process so that Delta Community members and others may access the on-site workshops and online courses that meet their specific needs.
