4.1 Acres of Land for Sale Amid Explosive Growth in the Surrounding Tech Square District

Cushman & Wakefield announced today that a 4.1-acre land assemblage is for sale in Atlanta’s Midtown submarket. Pierce Owings, Matt Hawkins and Ron Willingham of Cushman & Wakefield have listed the property for sale on behalf of three owners, The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta, Voya and the Hiott/Watson families.

“After many years of inefficiently operating in multiple locations, the Archdiocese of Atlanta consolidated its ministries in a single building in Cobb County approximately six years ago,” said John Schiavone, Director of Real Estate Development, Catholic Construction Services, Inc. for The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta.

“Instead of selling the 680 West Peachtree property at that time, Archbishop Wilton Gregory invited the then-fledgling Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School to use the building,” he continued. “Blessed with great success, Cristo Rey quickly outgrew it and was able to secure sufficient space of their own. With Cristo Rey’s relocation to their new site, the Archdiocese is able to proceed with the sale.”

One potential use that has been evaluated is a mixed-use development containing office, retail and residential components totaling nearly 3 million square feet.

“With the war for talent on the front of every CEO’s mind, any land sites offering close proximity to the bright minds at Georgia Tech should receive strong interest,” Owings said. “This 4.1-acre development opportunity sits between Georgia Tech’s main campus, the explosive job creation being generated out of Tech Square and easy access to the world’s busiest airport via the MARTA North Avenue Station.”
