State Bank and Trust Company has partnered with the Cristo Rey Jesuit High School Corporate Work Study Program to provide four Atlanta high school students with a work/study program during the 2017-2018 school year.
One of the 32 schools in the nationwide Cristo Rey Network, Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School is a college preparatory high school for underserved youth.The Cristo Rey Network helps students envision a future that includes a college degree and a successful professional career, and equips them with the knowledge and skills needed to realize that vision.
As part of the school's Corporate Work Study Program, each of State Bank’s sponsored Cristo Rey Atlanta students will work five full days a month at the company’s corporate office. This educational initiative aims to transform the lives of low-income, underserved students in Atlanta and students' earnings cover most of the tuition for their college-prep education at Cristo Rey Atlanta.

In August, 535 Cristo Rey High School students gathered alongside 140 job partners in the Atlanta business community, including State Bank, to participate in the annual “Draft Day.” During this event, job partners “drafted” a team of students to work at their organization in the upcoming school year.
