Dentons, the world's leading global law firm, today announced that William Mayfield joins the Firm’s leading Corporate practice as a senior counsel. Resident in the Atlanta office, he expands the Firm's corporate and commercial lending offerings.

Mayfield joins Dentons after 23 years with SunTrust Banks, Inc., recently serving as the Deputy General Counsel in charge of the lending activities of the corporate and investment bank. In this role, he oversaw all syndicated loan activities of SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, Inc., leasing activities of SunTrust Equipment Finance & Leasing Corp., and all restructuring and workout activities of SunTrust.

Mayfield received his JD from University of North Carolina Law School, his BA from Davidson College and his master's degree in international politics and economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
