State Bank Financial Corp. Appoints Jonathan Shapleigh as Savannah Market President

State Bank Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: STBZ), the holding company for State Bank and Trust Company, today announced the appointment of Jonathan Shapleigh to market president in Savannah, Georgia.

Shapleigh will be responsible for managing the Savannah market, which consists of commercial bankers, business bankers and branch bankers, as well as all bank-related activities within the market. He will also guide commercial and business bankers towards achieving pre-determined goals and meeting strategic objectives.

“Jonathan has shown a tremendous acumen for efficient, quality banking and we’re confident he will serve our clients well in the Savannah market,” said Spencer Strickland, middle Georgia regional president of State Bank Financial. “As we continue to grow and expand across Georgia, we entrust talented individuals like Jonathan to cultivate strong relationships with community leaders and our customers.”

Previously, Shapleigh served as State Bank’s senior vice president of commercial banking in Atlanta. In that position, he was responsible for managing, underwriting and developing business relationships with operating companies and commercial real estate borrowers. Shapleigh has over 14 years’ experience in the banking industry, having previously worked for a large financial service holding company for 10 years.

“Since joining State Bank, I’ve had the opportunity to expand my skill set and expertise with a large, diverse client base, which I’m certain will guide my work in Savannah,” said Shapleigh. “Our financial growth outlook in Savannah is remarkable and I’m excited to help lead our efforts moving forward.”

Shapleigh received his bachelor’s degree in finance and financial management services from the University of North Georgia. He resides in Savannah with his wife and two children.
