Mother-daughter duo-designed Jim Chapman Communities model wins two Gold OBIE awards
Engel & Völkers Buckhead Atlanta real estate advisors and designers, Mary Bairstow and her daughter Meaghan McCord, supported Jim Chapman Communities, the winners of two Gold OBIE awards presented by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, including Best Design Center for The Cottages at Horseshoe Bend and Best Single Family Detached $1.5 - $2 million, with their interior and exterior design work.
The Cottages at Horseshoe Bend, a community with 19 new homes in Roswell, Georgia, began with a complete interior and exterior overhaul, including removing walls, replacing the flooring, painting the interior along with the exterior and improved landscaping.
“We were so excited to have worked on this project that was honored with the Gold OBIE for the Best Design Center,” said Bairstow. “Our focus is always zeroed in on how to make whatever space we are working with to make folks feel they are somewhere special as they navigate the process of finding their dream home. Our use of authentic, textured materials along with original artwork is a winning combination. It doesn’t have to cost a lot to be great!”
The second awarded project was a single-family home located in one of Atlanta’s most desirable in-town neighborhoods, on the corner of Bohler Road and Peachtree Battle Avenue. The lavish six bedroom, six-and-a-half bath home includes a furnished basement, three-car garage and a thoughtfully-designed “nanny suite.”
Bairstow and McCord have successfully designed and staged over 15 homes in the last year both for their own portfolio of sales and other fellow agents as well as model homes for builder’s larger projects. These successful ventures have resulted in a shorter number of days on the market and often resulted in multiple offers and purchase agreements done within 24 hours of going on the market.
Bairstow and McCord worked alongside Jim Chapman Communities, an Atlanta-based residential builder, to complete both of these projects and were responsible for the interior and exterior specifications.
This year, The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association celebrates its 37th annual OBIE Awards recognizing outstanding achievements in marketing, remodeling and personal achievement in new home building in and around metro Atlanta.
