Hartman Simons & Wood, one of the nation’s leading commercial real estate law firms, announced Ryan P. Rivera and Whalen J. Kuller have been elected to equity partner and partner, respectively. These promotions went into effect January 1.

Rivera has extensive commercial real estate experience in a wide array of areas, including all types of acquisition, disposition, development and lease transactions nationwide. He represents developers and retailers, including small shop, junior anchor and big box national retailers in all types of retail lease transactions. He also represents landlords and tenants in office and industrial leases throughout the United States. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and his law degree from Emory University.

Kuller’s experience includes representing real estate and corporate clients on acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, private equity and venture capital and commercial financing. He also advises clients on the organization and formation of business entities, corporate governance, and the negotiation and preparation of agreements and contracts, including employment, shareholder, licensing, and supply and distribution agreements. Kuller earned his bachelor’s, master’s and law degrees from the University of Florida.
