Columbia Residential today announced the appointment of Aaron Swain as president of property management and operations. Swain will lead the firm’s property management group, playing a key role in the company’s future growth and operations.

With more than 30 years of direct experience in all organizational levels of property management, Swain brings a deep knowledge of the complex portfolio that Columbia Residential develops and manages. Most recently, Swain acted as senior vice president and chief business development officer at McCormack Baron Management (MBM), where he served in various executive roles for the past 20 years. He was instrumental in building MBM’s management portfolio, helping the firm to become one of the top affordable housing managers in the country. Prior to joining Columbia Residential, Swain led the management and operations of one of the nation’s largest developers of affordable and mixed-income housing.

Swain graduated from Morehouse College with a bachelor’s degree in management with a focus on real estate. Swain and his family recently relocated to the Atlanta area from St. Louis.
