Bennett Thrasher Appoints Justin Snell as Dispute Resolution & Forensics Director
Bennett Thrasher PC is pleased to announce the addition of three senior-level hires to start the year. Justin Snell has joined the firm as director in the Dispute Resolution and Forensics practice while Karen Dotson and Jan Magill have joined the firm as tax managers in the Pass-Through Entities and Personal Financial Services practices, respectively.
Snell has more than 12 years of experience in forensic accounting and specializes in corporate fraud and misconduct investigations, fraud prevention, compliance and integrity services, dispute resolution and litigation support.
Prior to joining Bennett Thrasher, he served as a director in KPMG’s Risk Consulting practice where he developed anti-fraud programs and controls to prevent and detect fraud. Snell also has experience with damage computation, post-purchase price disputes, record reconstruction and business interruption claims.
Snell earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Clemson University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) and a Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP), as designated by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Snell is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA). He is also actively involved with Atlanta Mission, Buckhead Church and Habitat for Humanity.
Dotson is a tax manager in Bennett Thrasher’s Pass-Through Entities practice with more than 15 years of both audit and tax experience. She provides tax consulting and compliance services to closely held corporations, partnerships and individuals. She has experience serving companies in the real estate, construction and retail industries, as well as closely-held family-owned businesses.
Dotson began her career in private industry as a controller for a construction contractor in the Atlanta area. Over the past several years, her services have been focused in the tax consulting and compliance areas for partnerships, S Corporations and individuals.
Dotson earned her Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting, cum laude, from Kennesaw State University. She is a CPA and a member of the AICPA and the GSCPA within their Taxation Sections.
Magill is a tax manager in Bennett Thrasher’s Personal Financial Service practice and has more than 16 years of experience in individual, partnership, fiduciary and private foundation taxation. Prior to joining Bennett Thrasher, she worked for a family office in Shaker Heights, Ohio, specializing in tax, financial and estate planning for high net worth clients.
Magill earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Miami University of Ohio. She is a CPA licensed in the state of Ohio. She is a member of the AICPA and the Ohio Society of CPAs.
