Brad Benton Joins Dixon Hughes Goodman Atlanta Office as National Healthcare Leader
Dixon Hughes Goodman (DHG) announces the appointment of Brad Benton as National Healthcare Leader, based in the firm’s Atlanta, Georgia office. A 30-year industry veteran, Benton will focus on strategy, structure and growth goals for the firm’s rapidly expanding healthcare practice. He succeeds Larry Hughes, DHG’s founding healthcare industry leader for the past 25 years.
“We sought a seasoned industry leader with the reputation and experience we believe is required to lead the growth of our audit, tax and consulting healthcare practice for the future,” said Ken Hughes, CEO for Dixon Hughes Goodman. “We are confident that the combination of our significant legacy of success, our current team’s capabilities and Brad’s leadership will result in accelerated growth for DHG Healthcare and enhanced opportunities for our healthcare team.”
Prior to joining DHG, Brad was the National Account Leader for a Big Four firm’s healthcare practice, where his role included market-facing leadership responsibility for the firm’s healthcare national advisory practice. His career experience is principally in the healthcare industry, and he has provided leadership of professional services for a broad range of healthcare industry stakeholders throughout the United States.
Throughout his career, Brad has served as the lead audit engagement partner or concurring review partner on a number of notable healthcare organizations. Most recently, he has served as engagement partner on various consulting projects at large health systems, and as the lead account partner for one of the largest private operators of healthcare facilities in the world.
Brad’s entire 30-year career was spent with the previous firm, having started in the Jackson, Mississippi office upon graduation from Millsaps College in 1982. He relocated to Atlanta in 1998, and prior to his national leadership role he served as the healthcare practice partner-in-charge for the Southeast and as the regional audit partner-in-charge for overall audit practice in the Mid-South.
Brad is currently active on several levels in the professional and business environment, including serving as a frequent speaker on healthcare industry topics such as corporate governance, transformation, reform, and other matters unique to healthcare organizations.
“The firm celebrates the highly successful legacy leadership that Larry has provided our healthcare practice,” said Ken Hughes. “Succession planning has been a key focus of our firm-wide leadership efforts, and the addition of Brad is an important step in identifying investments that will energize our growth expectations in today’s tremendously opportunistic healthcare marketplace.”
