TriMx Buys Shuttered Texprint Plant; Plans Multi-Tenant Retrofit
TriMx Ventures LLC has acquired the shuttered 30-acre Texprint facility, a 320,500-square-foot mix of manufacturing, distribution and office space in Macon, Ga., that's been closed since March 2001.
Arthur P. Barry III with Coldwell Banker Commercial Eberhardt & Barry Inc. brokered the sale for Tokai Senko Co. of Nagoya, Japan.
TriMx will undertake an extensive renovation to convert the single-tenant asset into multi-tenant use, which will be marketed by Barry. The property consists of more than 300,000 square feet of production and warehouse space and 20,500 square feet of office space.
At its peak, Texprint employed 300 workers in three shifts. The company printed and dyed fabric, primarily used in the manufacture of women's blouses and dresses.
The building delivered in 1975 and was paced through three expansions, the last of which was completed in 1994. The property sits between Geico’s training center and the former Brown & Williamson facilities along Weaver Road.
