Projects by Arnall Golden Gregory Clients Win Real Estate Awards

Clients of Arnall Golden Gregory's Real Estate Practice scored repeated wins at the Atlanta Business Chronicle's Best in Real Estate Awards ceremony on Feb. 28.

Industrial Deal of the Year went to Carter's, the national children's clothing retailer, which leased a 1-million-square-foot distribution center in Jackson County, Ga.

The planned LakePoint Sporting Community & Town Center on 1,275 acres in Bartow County, Ga., won Mixed Use/Special Use Deal of the Year.

Abe J. Schear represented Carter's and Philip G. Skinner represented LakePoint Land LLC.

Another Carter's project, which involved both Mr. Schear and Mr. Skinner, the 222,730-square-foot Phipps Tower lease for the company's new headquarters in Atlanta's Buckhead neighborhood, was a finalist for Office Deal of the Year.

Mr. Schear is co-leader of Arnall Golden Gregory's Retail practice and leader of the International Business practice. He represents national and regional landlords and tenants on retail leasing projects throughout the United States.

Mr. Skinner is co-leader of the firm's Office practice.  He represents owners, developers, investors, landlords and tenants in commercial real estate acquisitions, joint ventures, development, financing and leasing.

Another Arnall Golden Gregory client, Novare, won Multifamily Deal of the Year for the Midtown Atlanta apartment tower Skyhouse.  Mr. Schear and Brian R. Smith handle Skyhouse's retail leasing.

A fourth AGG client, Healey Weatherholtz, won Rehab/Renovation Deal of the Year for Shops Around Lenox.  James A. Gober is handling Healey Weatherholtz's litigation matters.

Arnall Golden Gregory's Real Estate practice is one of the largest in the South, with more than three dozen attorneys.  It counts among its clients the major players shaping metro Atlanta and other locales.

The Business Chronicle said the Carter's industrial lease won "for its size, speed and economic impact."  Carter's will use the Braselton facility to support its e-commerce, retail and wholesale operations, and expects to employ 600 there by 2015.

LakePoint is a $1 billion, long-term project that when built out will employ thousands of people and draw 4 million visitors a year.  Venues for 20 different sports and 5 million square feet of mixed-use space are planned.  LakePoint Sports Village, the project's 240-acre anchor, is scheduled to open next year.  Bass Pro Shops announced it will open a 100,000-square-foot store at LakePoint next year.
