Synovus’ Thomas Prescott, Richard Bradley Buy $38K in Stock for $666K Total Holdings - CBL

COLUMBUS, Ga. -- A Synovus Financial Corp. (NYSE: SNV) executive and a director have bought $38,300 total of the company's stock.

Thomas Prescott, executive vice president and CFO, and director Richard Bradley each bought 10,000 shares of the Columbus, Ga.-based company, according to separate Form 4 filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Prescott bought his shares for $1.91 apiece. The transaction brings his total holdings in Synovus to 91,361. Trading of Synovus' common stock closed Friday at $2.12, bringing Prescott's value to $193,685.

Bradley, an attorney at Columbus-based Bradley & Hatcher, acquired his shares at $1.92 apiece. After that transaction, Bradley held a total of 222,858 shares, of which 43,836 were directly, for a total value of $472,459.

Synovus is a financial services holding company with about $34 billion in assets. It provides commercial and retail banking, as well as investment services, through 30 banks, including locations in Georgia and in Naples and St. Petersburg, Fla.

Mr. Prescott joined Synovus Financial Corp. in 1987 as Vice President of Finance. He was promoted to Senior Vice President of Finance and Accounting in 1991 and was named Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer in 1993. He was promoted to Executive Vice President and Treasurer in 1994, and to Chief Financial Officer in 1996.
