Mark Pasquale Named Chief Information Officer for Piedmont Healthcare

ATLANTA (September 10, 2009) - Mark Pasquale has been named vice president of Information Services and chief information officer for Piedmont Healthcare (PHC).  He is responsible for the operation of the PHC Information Services division and corresponding management activities.

Pasquale has more than 25 years of information technology experience. Prior to joining Piedmont Healthcare, he was vice president of Information Services for St. John's Health System in Springfield, Mo., a $1.4 billion, six-hospital system that is part of the Sisters of Mercy Health System headquartered in St. Louis.

"Piedmont Healthcare's goal is to continue to build one of the best Information Services divisions of any healthcare system in the country," said Ed Lovern, executive vice president and chief administrative officer for Piedmont Healthcare.  "Our search for the right CIO to lead that charge has taken several months and involved hundreds of applicants.  We are pleased to have Mark join our leadership team."

Prior to joining St. John's Health System, Pasquale served as a director of application development for McKesson Corporation. Earlier in his career, he worked as an information systems manager for organizations in the manufacturing and municipal government sectors.  In 2005, he began serving as an adjunct faculty member for Webster University in Springfield, teaching graduate courses in healthcare administration and information data security.

Pasquale holds a master's degree in business administration from Webster University and a bachelor's degree in general studies with a computer science major from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Ill. He and his wife, Barb, have two children, and are relocating to Atlanta.
