The Executive Auction Raises Funds to Teach Georgia Students About Business
Atlanta, GA - Professionals seeking to broaden their networks and gain advice from top performing executives can now bid for the chance to spend one-on-one time with business leaders who make Atlanta a dynamic city. The Executive Auction, benefiting Junior Achievement of Georgia, is open online now through October 30th at the JA of Georgia website, www.georgia.ja.org. Auction hosts represent a wide variety of local industries.
Winning bids award the bidder and a motivated JA high school student a great business development opportunity. The auction is chaired by business leader Ralph de la Vega, President and CEO of AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets, and Chair of the JA Worldwide® Board of Directors.
"The business people featured in this auction have achieved the level of professional success for which we as an organization try to inspire Georgia's students to strive," said Jack Harris, President of Junior Achievement of Georgia. "It's a situation in which both the bidder and Georgia's students win."
JA of Georgia provides volunteer-led entrepreneurship, personal financial literacy and workforce readiness programs for students in grade levels K-12. Students learn JA's core concepts through three different delivery models: in-class programs, consisting of interactive, classroom-based lessons; the JA Job Shadow program, which brings middle and high school students into the workplace to learn about careers and observe the world of work; and the JA Fellows, the premiere entrepreneurship-focused after school program for high school students. JA provides its programs free of charge.
