Burr & Forman Partner Appointed Chair Of The State Bar Of Georgia Business Law Section
ATLANTA, October 27, 2009 - Edgar C. Snow, Jr., a partner in the firm's Atlanta office and chair of the firm's Banking and Real Estate Practice Group conducted the annual Business Law Section meeting during the 28th Annual Business Law Institute as chair of the Section. The program portion of the institute was chaired by Elizabeth Noe, a partner at Paul Hastings, and current vice-chair of the Business Law Section.
The Business Law Section sponsors business law legal seminars across the state, including the annual Business Law Institute, which was held in Atlanta on October 22-23 this year. This was the first Business Law Section meeting after Snow was appointed chair in July 2009. In addition to furthering legal education, the Business Law Section also has standing committees that consider legislative proposals and monitor legislative developments.
"I am privileged to serve as the chair for the State Bar of Georgia's Business Law Section. I look forward to facilitating and furthering the group's mission and working with its talented members," said Snow.
As a result of the current economic conditions, this year's Business Law Institute featured some unusual presentations such as an economic forecast by Joseph Keating, an economist from Royal Bank of Canada, as well as a panel designed for out-of-work business lawyers consisting of the legal placement professionals Keisha Hudson and Stephen Stone, and career coach Deborah Stone.
