Start-up Social Web App Firm Looxii Raises $98K - CBL

ATLANTA -- Start-up Looxii Co. has raised $97,500 from an equity offering, according to a Reg D filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The Atlanta-based firm develops social Web applications that turn qualitative data into practical information, allowing businesses to establish brand identities and guide their marketing strategies. For example, Looxii (pronounced Look-see) has developed Twinqs, which is a Twitter app that simplifies a feed to receive only the links.
Principals named in the filing are the firm's two founders, David Upton and R. Adam Rice. The Georgia Tech grads conceived of the business idea while in a class.
According to Looxii's blog (http://blog.looxii.com/people/), Upton has a background in fine art, database programming and graphic design, while Rice has an English degree and experience in marketing, journalism and design.
