2 Asset Preservation Advisors Hedge Funds Raise Combined $45.5M - CBL

ATLANTA -- According to amended Reg D filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, two Asset Preservation Advisors hedge funds have raised a total of $45.46 million.
APA Taxable Municipal Bond LP I has $23.09 million in pooled investment fund interests, while APA Short Term Tax Exempt Bond Fund LP I raised $22.37 million (reflecting U.S. investors only, net of withdrawals).
Founded in 1989 and based in Atlanta , Asset Preservation Advisors manages tax-exempt and taxable municipal bond portfolios for individuals, family wealth offices and institutional clients.
Between the two filing, the principals named are Fixed Income Advisors LLC, the Atlanta-based general partner; Kenneth Woods, chairman and CEO of Asset Preservation Advisors; President Charles Doty; and Kevin Woods, portfolio manager.
Each fund pays about $10,000 in quarterly cash fees to Fixed Income Advisors and its assignees.

Kenneth Woods - Chairman and CEO
Ken Woods established Asset Preservation Advisors, Inc. in 1989 after a long and successful career in the investment industry. Prior to forming APA, he was Vice President and Manager of Bankers Trust Company's Southeastern Global Market Division located in Atlanta . Mr. Woods holds a B.S. degree in Finance and Economics from Florida State University . In addition he is a member of the FINRA (Formerly NASD) Board of Arbitrators and has been appointed by the Superior Court of Georgia to serve as an arbitrator in fee arbitration. Mr. Woods is also a speaker on topics concerning fixed income and is quoted in many business and financial publications, including The Bond Buyer, Bloomberg Wealth Manager, Barron's, Money Magazine, and Reuter News.
Charles Doty - President
Charles Doty has been with APA since 2002, and has been in the municipal bond business for 25 years. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and worked for SunTrust Equitable Securities for 16 years, eventually serving as Director of National Institutional Municipal Sales. In 1999, he joined Municipal Trade, an online public finance investment bank, as Chief Operating Officer and President. He is a former Chairman and currently serves on the Board of Prevent Blindness Georgia. Mr. Doty is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts and the Southern Municipal Finance Society.
Kevin Woods - Principal and Portfolio Manager
Kevin Woods has been with APA since 1998. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Finance degree. Mr. Woods is a Principal of APA and serves as a Portfolio Manager. His responsibilities include research, trading of taxable and tax-exempt securities, portfolio analytics, and client service. He is a member of the National Society of Compliance Professionals (NSCP) and serves as the firm's Chief Compliance Officer. Mr. Woods is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts, the Southern Municipal Finance Society, and the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts.
