10/21/20

Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year at Atlanta’s premier holiday destination

This year, the holiday season kicks off at Atlantic Station with the traditional festivities and experiences you know and love with a modern, artful twist. Beginning Nov. 21 with Atlantic Station’s annual tree lighting event Light the Station airing on 11Alive, Atlanta’s premier mixed-use destination will be safely activated with artful encounters, holiday experiences and decor galore. From ice skating around the famous ice rink to festive Instagrammable moments to Atlanta-inspired pop-up activations, Atlantic Station will be your go-to holiday shopping and entertainment destination.

“This year, people are looking forward to the holidays more than ever to feel a sense of comfort and familiarity,” said Kristie Ray, director of marketing at Atlantic Station. “While things will look a little different this year, it doesn’t change our mission to bring joy, cheer and magic to Atlantic Station visitors, residents and office workers. We’ve thoughtfully reinvented our holiday celebrations and can’t wait for everyone to experience a safe and joyous holiday season at Atlantic Station.”

Atlantic Station’s holiday traditions, including the tree lighting and ice skating under the stars, will return this season along with several new, Atlanta-inspired art experiences. After the lighting of the 50-foot tree on Nov. 21, Parker 3D, the industry leader in traditional and custom interactive displays, will unveil the transformation of the shopping and entertainment destination into a whimsical, winter tech-wonderland. Throughout the property, there will be 68,000 twinkling lights on the 4,800-pound tree, seven-foot tall reindeer displays, vintage Atlanta pop-up activations, interactive custom displays featuring 75,000 LED lights and over 2,000 watts of rock concert sound and more. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra is also partnering with Carson Williams, an electrical engineer known whose ingenious holiday light experiences have gone viral, to provide hand-programmed customized light shows to the tune of holiday favorites.

“The vision for Atlantic Station’s holiday decor was to offer an ode to Atlanta in an artful, festive and out-of-the-box way,” said John Carter, director and founder of Parker 3D. “Every art display and activation speaks true to the characteristics of the city and residents. Art comes to meet holiday in the only place it makes sense – Atlantic Station.”
