SouthLawn Wins Metro Atlanta Redevelopment Summit Award

Presented by Partnership Gwinnett and the Council for Quality Growth, Award Recognizes Outstanding Redevelopment Projects

Partnership Gwinnett and the Council for Quality Growth have recognized SouthLawn with the 2020 Metro Atlanta Redevelopment Summit Award in the large redevelopment category.

The 33-acre mixed-use community features a blend of public green space, refined apartments, spacious single family homes and curated retail. The project by the joint venture partnership of George Berkow Inc., Novare Group, Batson-Cook Development Company (BCDC) and ELV Associates is steps from the historic Lawrenceville Square and connects the popular downtown to Lawrenceville City Hall.

Partnership Gwinnett, in collaboration with?The Council for Quality Growth, held the 2020 Metro Atlanta Redevelopment Summit (MARS) Awards virtually because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Presented by Georgia Power, MARS is the premier redevelopment event in the Atlanta region, bringing together more than 300 developers, commercial real estate brokers, elected officials, business leaders and community development experts.

“Redevelopment is vital to the smart growth of a community,” said Gwinnett County Commission Chair Charlotte Nash. “This event is always a great regional overview of redevelopment both big and small and honoring those projects leading the way.” 

The MARS Awards recognize outstanding redevelopment projects in the region, along with one individual, for their commitment and exceptional redevelopment work in metro Atlanta.

SouthLawn features thoughtfully selected street-level retail destinations below two distinct apartment communities — Populus at SouthLawn and Conclave. SouthLawn is anchored by a central one-acre town green, which connects to the Lawrenceville Lawn to the north via an elegant streetscape. The town green is encircled by 23 detached single-family homes and 118 townhomes by Smith Douglas Homes and another 17 townhomes by Walker Anderson Homes.
